Aloo Baba ('Father Potato') - an Indian recluse, yogi and holy man,
Formerly a wandering sadhu, he settled in the early 90s and started extending this small Shiva temple deep in the countryside south of Pushkar, where he lives a life of great simplicity following a daily rhythm of yoga, meditation and prayer. As his name already suggests, he lives on a simple diet of, almost exclusively, potatoes - when asked 'why' he sums up his simple philosophy in one sentence: "Many choice, many problem - no choice, no problem". He also explains that potatoes are the cheapest food and available anywhere. He has a deep connection with 'prakriti' (nature), having planted all the trees around the temple. As a guru, Aloo Baba is supported by local villagers and visitors (who he welcomes), offering in return simple teachings on God, consciousness and nature.
