Bottle House in a Nepali village
This is a natural eco-building method using locally available recycled materials: glass bottles as brick alternatives, plaster made from shredded recycled paper, clay sand, straw and cow manure; recycled car tyres incorporated into the base of the bamboo frame structure and a thatched roof. The buildings are cheap to construct and have a flexible structure which will sway but is less likely to break than brittle concrete during one of the earthquakes to which Nepal is prone
Kevin Rohan Memorial Eco Foundation, KRMEF is a Nepali NGO aiming to create a healthy, sustainable environment that embodies eco-friendly practices for the wellbeing of local communities throughout Nepal and beyond
